Honda is set to release a street-legal version of its MotoGP championship winning racing bike!

According to report from The Asahi Shimbun, Japan’s second largest daily newspaper.

Honda Motor Co. is set to release a street-legal version of its MotoGP championship winning racing bike with a price tag of 20 million yen (approx. 2 million rand).

The Honda RC213V-S will be almost identical to the RC213V racing motorcycle that captured the MotoGP championship crown in 2014 for the third consecutive year.

The RC213V-S, the most expensive motorcycle made in Japan and commercially available from Honda, will have many of the same mechanical components and specs as the racing model.

It will go on sale in Japan and overseas markets this year.

Minor changes will be made to accommodate regulations in countries where the RC213V-S will be sold, including detuning the engine and the addition of turn signals. The engine will have a displacement of 1,000cc.

Production is scheduled to take place at the Honda plant in Ozu, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Expensive toy at 2 million rand each, wonder if we will see any arrive in South Africa? One thing is for sure, it will be the fastest, baddest and closest to a MotoGP machine that the world has ever seen.
