Despite being so different and attracting such different personalities, cars and bikes often go together very well in many people’s lives and nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in dealerships. There is often a lot of cross-pollination, especially in high-end car dealerships; owners of fast or exotic cars often see a motorbike as an essential companion for their car collection in the garage.
Bikeshop Rivonia has been setting the new and used bike world alight in recent years, with sales numbers off the charts and an ever-expanding fan base. They have very quickly become the go-to place to sell your bike, be it a run-of-the-mill model or something rarer and more desirable.
Cars soon entered the fray and, again, the emphasis was on higher-end and collectable cars. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Carshop Rivonia. Walk in, and you can immediately sense the similar DNA: very well-presented cars and an interesting variety also; modern, classic, sports, sedans, 4×4, exotic, super-luxury, kit cars, modified – you name it, they fill every last square metre.
It’s an eclectic mix but one that really appeals. Where else can you find, for example, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan alongside a very low-mileage and mint 1980s Toyota Corolla, or a rally-raid-prepared Porsche 911 alongside a monstrously raised 4×4 bakkie? Are you a fan of ’80s BMW 3-series? There are four sitting right there. It’s what makes going to car dealerships such as this so appealing; you never know what you are going to find.
As with the Bikeshop business model, Carshop is also a new-car dealership, in this case for the electric Chinese brand Dongfeng. Not heard of them yet? You will do, as the demonstrator looks very sleek and purposeful.
As far as first impressions go, Carshop Rivonia has certainly made a good one. With an interesting concept and plenty of room to evolve, we reckon this new addition to the specialist car market has a bright future ahead of it.
