KTM has long been known for its off-road, Enduro and MX machines; only relatively recently has the road-bike division grown in importance, while the Adventure segment has also been a very happy hunting ground for the Austrian brand.
There is another segment that is perhaps not as well known to the man in the street, but to those who care deeply about these things, is the most important of all: rally-level endurance riding. Think Dakar Rally, the World Rally-Raid Championship: vast distances, pushing man and machine to the absolute limit, where speed has to go hand-in-hand with reliability and, yes, endurance.
The legend was the KTM 640 Adventure, and this has never been directly replaced. The later 690 was never sold as a full-blooded Rally model, ready to tackle Rally Raid events off the showroom floor, which led a lot of customers to modify and equip their 690s to fulfil that rôle.
Now, KTM has announced the new-for-2027 690 Rally, bringing rally-inspired purpose back to the LC4 platform. As KTM itself puts it, “an invitation to go further and ride longer”, built to tackle demanding terrain and extended adventures.
Built on the proven KTM 690 ENDURO R platform, the KTM 690 RALLY evolves its dual-sport foundation with a clear focus on extended range, stability, and long-distance usability. A purpose-built rally tower with integrated windshield creates a true rally cockpit, while dual front-mounted fuel tanks increase capacity to approximately 20 litres.
Designed to perform across everything from technical off-road terrain to high-speed liaison sections, the KTM 690 RALLY bridges the gap between lightweight enduro agility and rally-level endurance.
