First Music Acts for the Pure&Crafted Festival confirmed: Bad Nerves (UK), SONS (BE), Indian Askin (NL) and Swedish Death Candy (UK); more acts to be released soon.
Munich/Amsterdam. After three legendary editions in Berlin in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as Pure&Crafted ON THE ROAD in 2018, the Pure&Crafted Festival now moves from Berlin to the gates of Amsterdam: The beautifully situated location Taets Art and Event Park will offer the unique backdrop for the three proven components of the festival on Saturday, 28 September: 1.) straightforward and honest Rock Music, 2.) Motorcycle culture and 3.) a good portion of New Heritage Lifestyle.
The evening before (Friday, 27 September), the weekend will open with a Pure&Crafted club night in the centre of Amsterdam. On Sunday, 29 September, the Taets Art & Event Park will once again be the meeting place for a relaxed breakfast together before heading from there to the starting point of this year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
The confirmed bands (more names to be released soon).
If you’re not strong, you need to be fast! At least when it comes to the English garage Punk Rock Band Bad Nerves: an infectious mixture at 78 rpm. Equally energetic are the Belgian garage punk “sons“ from SONS, who give their sound a fine psychedelic and fluffy note that makes it impossible to keep still. Of course, Indian Askin don’t need to be introduced anymore, because this very talented Amsterdam psychedelic Nu-Punk Quartet has been on the radio, on the concert stages and at music festivals for three years now and is now attracting more and more attention abroad. Just like the international band Swedish Death Candy. Not from Sweden, but from London, where the band members from Italy, England and South Korea have their homebase and from where they want to conquer the world with catchy, hard and fancy Psych-Rock.
Pure&Crafted: Music. Motorcycles. New Heritage.
Visitors to the Pure&Crafted Festival are connoisseurs who love their freedom and individuality. Also this year, they expect the three proven pillars Music, Motorcycles and New Heritage.
At Pure&Crafted, Music stands for Indie/ Alternative, Folk, Rock, Singer-Songwriters, melodic Punk Rock and related genres. In past editions, promising up-and-coming acts as well as internationally renowned bands such as Interpol, Refused and The Hives have been presented.
BMW Motorrad is the initiator and title sponsor of Pure&Crafted. That’s why there are of course no wishes left unfulfilled in the area of Motorcycles. In the so-called Wheels Area of the festival, lovers of motorcycles, especially of extraordinary custom bikes, will get their money’s worth and will be inspired by new – and also classic – models as well as search for high-quality motorcycle clothing, equipment, and accessories. In addition, there will be the breathtaking Wall of Death shows, in which the famous Ken Fox troop from England will cast their spell over the audience.
New Heritage completes the overall package: after all, the impressive General Store at the festival is the ideal place for authentic fashion, favourites and handmade items. It offers high-quality, sustainable and durable products such as leather accessories, clothing, and other must-have items from carefully selected manufacturers and the best brands on the scene.
Of course, Pure&Crafted is also home to Amsterdam’s most popular food trucks. They offer a careful selection of delicious, traditionally prepared dishes and refined drinks, specially adapted to the festival. Tickets for Pure&Crafted are available for EUR 25.00 from now on (incl. service fees) on www.pureandcrafted.com/tickets.

Afriski Mountain Resort is once again hosting a true bucket-list event for motorcycling enduro riders of all capabilities, from novices to experienced riders. Snow+Rock Enduro also promises to be a wonderful occasion for their families.
Deep in Lesotho’s beautiful Maluti Mountains, Afriski has teamed up with Wild West Enduro Track to create an event that promises fun for beginners, a rewarding challenge for intermediate enduro riders and a chance for advanced bikers to hone their skills.
As this event takes place at the end of October, snow maybe a little thin on the ground – but there’ll be no shortage of rocks and beautiful scenery. “We’re delighted to be hosting Snow+Rock Enduro once again,” commented Peter Peyper, Afriski Sales & Marketing Director. “The variety of terrain around Afriski – both high altitude and lowland – means that riders of all skill levels will find something to surprise, delight and challenge them. This is a great opportunity for enduro riders to boost their confidence and get to grips with the kind of riding that only Lesotho offers,” he added.
The routes for this year’s event have been carefully planned for enduro riders of every skill level, and will also feature key vantage points where supporters can gather to cheer on their favourite rider. The added benefit is that the course for Snow+Rock Enduro is outside the restricted area for this year’s Motul Roof of Africa, so riders can practice in similar altitude conditions without contravening the rules.
This year’s route will offer participants the chance to experience both the mountains and lowlands of Lesotho, as Martin Schultz Snow+Rock Enduro Route Director points out. “The Lowland Ride can be self-navigated as a race against your mates or enjoyed as a guided group outride. The second day’s 40km Altitude Ride takes things up a notch – literally – thanks to its combination of technical sections and flowing terrain. Again, it can be raced or taken at your own pace,” added Martin. Both days riding will offer great routes for the 3 categories – Novice routes will be guided and marked, the Intermediate and Advanced routes will be self-navigation routes and so a GPS is essential.
And unlike most other enduro events, Snow+Rock is just as welcoming for supporters and families as for the riders taking part in the event. “We’re certainly encouraging riders to bring their families to Snow+Rock Enduro,” said Francois Marais, one of the founders of the event and owner of Wild West Enduro Track. “As well as watching the riders tackle the mountains, partners and kids can enjoy their own adventures with a wide variety of activities on offer at the resort before heading to Africa’s highest restaurant to cool down with a Maluti beer or warm up with a mug of hot chocolate.”
Afriski and nearby guest houses offer well-priced, extremely comfortable accommodation with stunning views and catering options including the Sky Restaurant at Afriski – Africa’s highest eatery.

“RIDE WITH A CAUSE”
Individual Riders and Clubs can still gather at the Pavilion Shopping Mall, Durban and there are other venues as well such as; Power Centre, Otto Volek Road, New Germany. Where there will be a pub open for a liquid breakfast and place to have an early coffee or burger.
NPN Auto in St John’s Rd, Pinetown is another venue with Wimpy and Panarotti’s.
Gateway in the main entrance is another. All the rides will leave at 9.30 am sharp.
Road Captains are requested to watch over your crew’s and stop any bike stunts whilst on your ride down to Lords and Legends Sports Restaurant Venue. Take it easy this is a Mass Ride, not a Mass Race. Anyone abuses this and the Ride will no longer be allowed. The ball is now in your court. You wanted this you now have it. Don’t let everyone else down because you couldn’t keep certain people in hand.
We are collecting TOYS and to assist battling squatter/tent camps we are also collecting 6 pack tins/packets of non-perishable food too. Some toiletries like Toothpaste and soap won’t go amiss either. There will be some different charities this year comprising mainly of the tent/squatter camps in KZN only. All donations will stay in the greater Durban and the surrounding area of KZN.
Motorcycle Club President’s are requested to forward their children’s charity that they support before the end of October to [email protected] on the Charity letterhead stating how many children, age groups how many girls and boys between the ages of 0 to 14 years. They will represent their charities at Toy Run on the day and either collect their charity’s donation on their behalf or invite their charity to collect themselves. They should bring a roll of new black empty refuse bags in exchange for loaded bags, please. If the donation is not collected by 4 pm on the day of DURBAN TOY RUN the allocation will be given to another charity. Your assistance in finding underprovided and underfunded kiddie charities in the area would be appreciated. Please help.
Club President’s are put up for Auction. They need to encourage the audience and club members to part with much-needed funds to earn the ‘Right’ to donate ALL money raised at the Club President’s Auction to a local Kiddies Charity of their choice. The most ever collected R30,000. Please drag your President, Chairman or Leader to the Auction Block and assist with collecting for a needy cause.
The Bikers Auction – which a Bike Shop or Stall has sponsored an item Mostly riding gear. Please support this. The funds are used throughout the year for assistance with children like ambulances, wheelchairs and sometimes a Doctor’s visit. We do not share this in the media for obvious reasons.
Everything that you see on site is sponsored, Main sponsor Lords and Legends Sports Pub and restaurant: main marquee, several Pubs, benches, tables, stage, beer garden, and the cleaners.
Stalls and Stands for their support donating towards the Auctions.
The Entertainment: Individual entertainers, like Clowns, Face Painters, Rides, etc., MC and DJ Eddie and the Live Music – they donate their time as they feel that at least once a year they can donate a few hours to this event for all the times you guys supported them throughout the year! The Staging areas, the amazing Amanzimtoti SAPS and ‘Toti for allowing us to hold this event every year and for a few hours take over the roads. For the fantastic guys and Ambo’s on standby. And so many more.
BIKERS You are so appreciated. Of course, all this cannot be done without you. THANK YOU for your continued support over the years. YOU ROCK! See you all once again on the 1st of December! Come hungry, come thirsty but come with money to spend Big Please! THANK YOU
